OrgSync was originally founded by students and alumni from the University of Texas in early 2007. After years of frustrations running their own student organizations on campus, Eric Fortenberry and Cayce Stone spearheaded the initiative to develop a web-based solution that could solve many of the challenges they faced as student leaders.

The duo started off working out of their apartments and could only work nights and weekends because of their other full-time commitments to work and school. Eric’s primary focus was on the product development and Cayce focused on prospecting, sales and revenue generation required to beat the Company’s heart.

In May 2007, after realizing the full potential of OrgSync, Eric and Cayce moved in together into a 5 bedroom house in North Austin and recruited 3 other close friends to help bootstrap their start-up. The team did not have any money beyond what their credit cards could hold, and so moving in together allowed them to live off the Company. Rent was only $1,650 and with all bills and food included, the Company’s operating expense was roughly $2,500 per month, which was just enough to keep the five person team alive and working hard to build OrgSync.

For the next two years, the team continued to literally live and breathe OrgSync 24x7 out the house. The extreme commitment rapidly accelerated the Company growth and enabled us to partner with more than 50 campuses by the end of 2008. As the team continued to expand, everyone was no longer able to fit into a single house.

In May 2009, the Company leased its second house just a few doors down to provide additional living and working room for marketing and client services. By the end of 2009, OrgSync had partnered with over 100 campuses and had outgrown its second house.

In January 2010, the Company decided it was ready to take the giant leap forward and move into a corporate office. Staying in Austin was an option, but eventually Dallas was selected for the new corporate headquarters. The primary reasons to move to Dallas were the larger and more experienced talent pool for recruiting, better fund raising opportunities and closer proximity to more clients.

By May 2010, the entire Company and all its employees had uprooted themselves and relocated to Dallas, successfully raised capital, hired multiple new team members and formed an advisory board.

OrgSync now has approximately 20 employees and a seasoned management team. The Company continues to expand its products and services and now services over 150 campus clients across the United States and Canada.
