FERPA Complicance

In this document, 'OrgSync.com' and 'OrgSync' are products owned by OrgSync, Inc. and may be used synonymously with 'OrgSync, Inc.' where appropriate.

Below describes our provision for compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

The student records policy of OrgSync, Inc. is governed by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). No one will have access to nor will the company disclose any information from a student educational record without the written consent of the student except to personnel within the institution, to officials of other institutions in which the student seeks to enroll, to persons or organizations providing the student financial aid, to accrediting agencies carrying out their accreditation function, to authorized representatives of the federal and state governments for audit and evaluation of federal and state supported programs, to persons in compliance with a judicial order and to persons in an emergency in order to protect the health and safety of students or other persons. All of the exceptions are permitted under the Act.

All student information is provided voluntarily by the student. Students are not required to provide educational content in order to participate in OrgSync. Educational records kept on students at OrgSync.com may include:

  1. Personal or biographical data as gathered through the registration process
  2. Course and event enrollments, grades, and club involvement

These educational records are under the direct supervision and coordination of the club administrator. A student who wishes to review any of his/her records may do so by contacting his/her club administrator or by contacting OrgSync.com with a formal request for a specific set of records.

Students may request to update the accuracy of their records by contacting their club administrator or OrgSync.com with all of the details necessary for updating the records, including a reason for the update.

OrgSync, Inc. may use student directory information for the internal functioning of the OrgSync products.
Generally includes the following, though each institution defines its own directory information:

  • Name, Grade, and Gender
  • Participating in officially recognized activities, including sports, meetings, and club events
  • Geographical location
  • Registered email and mailing address
  • Awards received and work experience reported
  • Dates of use of the service
  • The most recent educational institution attended
