OrgSync CEO, Eric Fortenberry, Named to Inc. Magazine’s 30 Under 30 List
DALLAS, TX (May 29, 2013) - OrgSync Founder and CEO, Eric Fortenberry, has been named to Inc. Magazine's annual 30 Under 30 list of America's coolest
and most innovative young entrepreneurs.
In its seventh year, the Inc. 30 Under 30 recognizes young entrepreneurs who are "disrupting industries, making millions, and building highly successful companies—all before the age of 30." The honor places Fortenberry among the top 30 out of more than 650 applicants, which means “getting into Harvard was easier than landing a spot on this list,” according to Inc.
Fortenberry left a high paying job as an investment banker less than a year out of school to become an entrepreneur. He founded OrgSync in 2007 out of a 5-bedroom house in Austin, TX, after years of frustrations running a student organization at the University of Texas at Austin.
“We were using everything from Google Groups, to Facebook, PowerPoint, binders of paper, and we had a website that got lost each year as officers turned over. Everything was very decentralized and I knew there had to be a better way. All of these tools needed to be consolidated into one platform and taken online, and that is exactly what I set out to do,” states Eric Fortenberry.
OrgSync started as an organization management tool and has quickly grown into an online campus community where every department, program, and organization can leverage the platform to streamline their operations and engage students. Today, the software-as-a-service platform serves the needs of more than 350 colleges and universities, 50,000 departments and organizations, and 2,000,000 users.
“We are extremely grateful for all our customers and their continued guidance and support along the way. Developing OrgSync has been a collaborative partnership with our campus partners, and we look forward to continue expanding OrgSync’s offerings to higher education,” says Fortenberry.
