OrgSync Hosts Inaugural Customer Advisory Council Meeting at Indiana State University
Senior Student Affairs Executives discuss strategic initiatives and challenges currently faced by Student Affairs
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 12, 2011
OrgSync, a provider of online community management solutions for higher education, held its first customer advisory council meeting at Indiana State University to discuss current challenges facing the future of Student Affairs professionals and how OrgSync plans to meet those challenges. Discussions centered around enhancing the co-curricular experience and value of participation for students.
Senior Executives from colleges and universities across the country were in attendance, both virtually and on-site, including representatives from: Indiana State University, Georgia College, University of California – Los Angeles, Northeastern University, University of Wisconsin – Stout, and Dixie State College.
“In a time of budget cuts, it is more important than ever for Student Affairs professionals to validate the importance of co-curricular programming and the impact it has on student engagement and performance. OrgSync stands at the forefront of student engagement and co-curricular involvement and offers solutions that help collect, store and assess student involvement data,” states Nolan Davis, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at Indiana State University.
Service Management was another important topic on the council’s agenda. Georgia College has entered into a development partnership with OrgSync to develop a service management system that will simplify volunteer management for campuses and make it easier for students to find volunteer opportunities in their community. Development of the project is now underway and the new product is set to be released this summer.
“The biggest benefit of OrgSync is that it increases student engagement on campus,” according to Tom Miles, Director of Campus Life at Georgia College. “Students want to know what’s happening around them, and OrgSync provides a way to find out. The point is to get students connected and engaged in campus life. OrgSync gets students involved earlier and keeps them involved in lots of different ways. There is no substitute for what OrgSync does.”
Council members were excited about the progress OrgSync has made to date and have laid out plans to help the Company expand its solutions to meet the broader needs of every department across Student Affairs. OrgSync’s customer advisory council will meet annually in person and hold virtual meetings occurring every 3-6 months in between.
OrgSync provides community management solutions for higher education institutions across the United States. The Company’s web-based software platform enables colleges and universities to track student involvement, communicate with students and staff, and manage student organizations and programs on campus. OrgSync offers a broad suite of more than 50 tools that help campus administrators streamline operations and create a paperless office by managing day-to-day processes online.
