Application Programming Interface (API)

OrgSync’s API provides campus IT with a secure way to access data from OrgSync and pull it into other databases across campus. The API ensures the seamless integration of OrgSync by allowing existing campus systems to be automatically updated by the accurate, up-to-date information collected within OrgSync. The API also allows each campus the flexibility and creativity to create new automated processes to leverage all the institutional involvement and assessment data collected from students, organizations, programs and departments.

Authentication

OrgSync’s login system can be integrated with a number of campus authentication systems, including CAS, Shibboleth, and LDAP. Using campus authentication will restrict access so that only active students, faculty and staff can login to the system. Campus authentication also allows students to bypass the OrgSync user registration progress by simply logging in using the same username and password as their campus login. For new OrgSync users, accounts will be automatically created using active directory information. Establishing single sign-on processes makes it easier for students to remember just one username and password to access all campus systems.

Facebook Connect

In an effort to make OrgSync even more accessible and further integrated into students’ lives, we have launched a new Facebook Connect feature that will allows users to log into OrgSync using their Facebook username and password.
